Expert guide to La Rosière
La Rosière’s accommodation is much more upmarket than it once was, and includes two four-star hotels as well as a good range of smart apartments and catered chalets. The village is in two parts, Centre and Les Eucherts, and much of the more modern accommodation is in Les Eucherts area. All the below recommendations are located there.
Keeping the resort heading in a more upmarket direction, further new hotels and residences are in the pipeline, including a Club Med close to La Rosière Centre and a new apartment residence, the Alpen Lodge, at the foot of the slopes in Les Eucherts. Both are due to open in December 2020.
L’ Accroche Coeur
A three-star 18 bedroom hotel set in a splendid chalet-style building made of wood and stone, L’Accroche Coeur’s ground floor has a big open-plan lounge, bar and restaurant area with mezzanine, all with big windows and great views over the valley. It’s a 200m walk to lifts and slopes, there’s a sauna and fitness room and the restaurant serves excellent French and Savoyard food.
Alparena Hotel and Spa
The 58-room, ski-in/ski-out, four-star Alparena is close to the centre of Les Eucherts. The building is chalet-style and the decor smart and contemporary. A 1,000 sqm wellness area includes an indoor pool, separate kids’ pool, two saunas, two steam rooms, a fitness room and four treatment rooms.
A two-minute walk from the Eucherts Express chairlift and piste home, the four-star Hyatt Centric has a smart but casual atmosphere and friendly staff. The spacious bar area on the ground floor has a big terrace with fab views over the valley and there are separate French and Italian restaurants. Bedrooms are stylishly furnished, and those with views over the valley are especially appealing. There’s an indoor pool and hot tubs, a big outdoor hot tub with great views, sauna and steam rooms, spa treatments, even a yoga room.
